You’ve heard of Christmas in July? We’re having Dog Days in June.
It’s not even officially summer until this weekend, and boy is it hot. We’ve had temperatures over 90 for 9 days straight; yesterday it was 94. Lows are in the mid 70s. The other day, the heat index in Orlando was 85 even before
the sun came up. There’s no breeze in the morning. It’s just oppressive.
July is our hottest month, but it’s not usually like this until August.
And to add insult to injury, the mosquitoes are here. They’re big, and they’re hungry. My legs are covered with bites. If we have an encephalitis or West Nile Virus breakout, we’re all doomed.
The good part of this is that my newest pepper is growing like crazy. Unfortunately, so is the grass in my yard.
And, added to all of this, is my own personal hormone-directed heat generating system.
