Some time ago, a tomato plant started growing up out of the bottom of my compost pile. I never planted it; it must have started from seeds that I put in the compost. It’s been blooming for a couple of weeks. The flowers are small and delicate, with very thin yellow petals.
And now, the crazy thing is growing a couple of tomatoes! They’re still green. They look like the grape tomatoes that I got from the farm last spring. If so, they may turn out to be edible!
This makes me feel better about planting seeds outside from the get-go, rather than trying to start seedlings inside. This particular seed has really gone to town, with very little help from me!
Stay tuned…
